Neon Brand Identity & UX Design

"Neon" will brighten your day during the darkest times.

This project was designed based on my own personal values as well as research on the current issues regarding mental health worldwide. The aim is to provide a safe space for users to talk about their issues with other people having similar experiences, therefore, supporting one another. This is a move towards a positive social media environment.

The design was made to be engaging for younger users, with a colourful and modern approach that reduces the stigma around talking about mental health. The last people will think of when it comes to mental health is the club; however, it is the interest of many young people. Inspired by the colours and mood of gaming and clubs, this app was designed to feel fun and comfortable for our audience.

The logo design is simple and friendly, incorporating a smile. The top element was originally designed as hair, but the orientation was improved based on feedback to create a better flow of the circle and a yin-yang resemblance. Script typeface was used to better resemble neon signs.

Usability testing was conducted on the application. Users could post, categorise, and find specific categories on the explore page within seconds. Improvements were made as a result of feedback from the user, which helped ensure optimal navigation and accessibility for users.
